Festival of Sant'Andrea
Since the arrival of relics in 1208, the Apostle Sant’Andrea has been designated the protector of Amalfi and its people. Each year on June 27th, a huge festival takes place, celebrating an event in 1544 in which the townspeople believe Sant’Andrea protected them from a sea invasion.
Celebrations begin in the heart of Amalfi at the breathtaking central duomo (cathedral). Don’t miss the spectacular scenes, incuding a procession which begins after the evening mass.
